The film delves into the complex history of Black America, using vampirism as a metaphor for racism and cultural appropriation. It also explores themes of love, grief, and the strength of women. It features a strong ensemble cast, with Michael B. Jordan portraying the twins Smoke and Stack, who are central to the story. The characters are layered and complex, with the villains not being portrayed as purely evil. 

Visually striking with a good blend of action and horror.

The first original film to make over $285M globally and it is still going. This is probably down to its appeal running to many audiences and the skilful direction which brings it all together.

Worth seeing on the big screen.
