Iron man 3 ****1/2
Very good action film.

The Croods ****
Animated adventure that works better than average.

Hansel and Gretel ****  (Horror)
Fast paced action with some humour, a little more would be appreciated. The witches and special effects are fantastic. Hopefully a sequel will be made. Would love to see more of the troll. A little dark in the climax, we wanted to see more of what was going on. On the whole, a great start to the horror year.

Broken City *** (Thriller)

Russell Crowe with an odd hair cut that detracted a little from the action. Anti-climatic ending. Bit slow but mostly good in parts. Uneasy mix of action and drama.

Les Miserables **** (Drama)

Unmissable, excellent acting. Disapointing that we didnt get the epic we were all expecting. The best shot is at the beginning with the ship. Jackman and Hathaway are fantastic.

Wreck it Ralph ** (Comedy)

The animated film standard is up and down at present. This was advertised as being as good as 'Toy Story' Unfortunately, it is not in  the same country, never mind the same ball park.

Mama **** (Horror)

Where Hansel and Gretel bring a lightness to the horror in their story, this film descends into the darkest depths of fear. Currently running as best horror of the year but then its only March.
